| Improving Health Care Provider Awareness: Scripted Slide Presentations |
|
One of the major goals of the CAIC’s 2006 National Adult Immunization Awareness Week campaign to increase awareness among healthcare providers on the importance of immunizations among adults and to offer evidence-based strategies to increase these rates.
For your convenience and use, the CAIC has developed two slide presentations for use during or after NAIAW’06, entitled “Adult Immunization: It’s your best shot!”
Below are two fully scripted and downloadable versions of the presentation (30 and 50 minute lengths) that can be used by providers to educate other providers on adult immunization issues. The CAIC has also created a draft CME evaluation template you can adopt or customize for use if you plan to apply for CME units for the 50 minute presentation. The CAIC does not have the capacity to award CME units for this presentation.
Learner objectives for both presentations :
- Describe and use the current adult immunization schedule recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to screen for and recommend appropriate vaccines for adults.
- Describe the ACIP and CDC recommended vaccination strategies for regular flu seasons AND for seasons when influenza vaccine is in short supply.
- List three evidence based strategies that can be used to improve adult immunization rates in practice.
