B1 Barriers and Strategies to Increasing Adolescent and Young Adult Immunization Coverage
Learning Objectives:

- Briefly describe the recommended immunizations for the adolescent and young adult populations
- Identify barriers to reaching adolescent and young adult populations
- Discuss potential strategies to reach targeted populations

B2 Travel Medicine: An Emerging Focus for Adult Immunization
Learning Objectives:
This panel discussion gave participants a broad overview of the field of travel medicine, an important but little-understood area with respect to disease prevention and patient education. Travel medicine includes patient assessment prior to travel, and the administration of needed vaccines and medications.
By the end of this break-out session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the components involved in setting up a travel clinic, resources available for practitioners of travel medicine (MD, Pharmacists and RN) and the required staff education, training and experience.
- Understand he benefits of incorporating a travel medicine program in the outpatient or pharmacy setting, including both preventive health and financial impacts

B3 NAIAW and Boomer Bikers!
Learning Objectives:
This session discussed National Adult Immunization Awareness Week (NAIAW) as a means of promoting adult immunization. The recent history of NAIAW in CA and current planning for CAIC supported/encouraged observances in 2007 were discussed.
By the end of the break-out session, participants were able to:
- To identify successful strategies from the recent past
- To describe timeliness issues in the coordination of statewide observances
- To identify valuable ways in which individuals and organizations can participate in 2007
